A keen eight turned out for the U100 section, with some previous competitors having been forced up into the U130 group. There were no gimmes with most games lasting a significant amount of time. Going into the last round the leader Jacob Cartlidge threatened to be the only player at this year's event with a perfect score, but he slipped up against Arthur Banks. However his nearest rival, Derrick Jones, also lost, so he retained first place.
