The field for the U130 looked like being a convenient eight, but illness on the day reduced this to seven. With two players electing to take half-point byes on Saturday evening, the rest were all destined to play an out of section game. By the end of day one all bar Peter Windows and Ernie Wilkinson were tied in the lead on two points, but George Scattergood was the only one to double his score on Sunday, leaving him in sole possession of top place.
