1986/1987

In 87/88 and 88/89 each club was entitled to enter a team in the Premier League, which was run as a separate entity to the other divisions, so that players could play in both the premier and another division. From memory the same was also true in this season, so that for example Newcastle A and Newcastle B were largely the same group of players.
