1982/1983
For some reason I have kept a newspaper cutting showing the final league tables for season 82/83. 54 teams from 15 clubs spread over 6 divisions.
Clubs concerned are Cheddleton (9 teams), Electra (8), Meir (6), Smallthorne and Penkhull (5 each), Longton, Macclesfield, Stafford and Michelin (3 each), Kidsgrove, Keele University and Cavaliers (2 each), Holmes Chapel, RAF Stafford and Blind SC.
Although Newcastle are direct descendants of Penkhull, and Creda are distantly related to Meir and possilbly Longton, other clubs in the above list - Electra, Smallthorne, Michelin, Keele University, Cavaliers and RAF Stafford have disappeared without trace over the last 20 years.
