Newcastle in the Cups
Newcastle have again entered all four of the NSDCA cup competitions for season 2017/18, plus the Withnall Cup (County U121).
Minor Cup (U110) for Perry Trophy.
We start with a bye before entertaing the winner of the Crewe PA v Alsager match. In due course Crewe PA turned up, and were put to the sword with pete, paul, Brian and Jeff all winning. The other semi-final has been delayed, so the final has been put back until 9th May. At least we are at home.
Intermediate Cup (U130)
Alsager at home in the semis here too, Newcastle coming out on top by the odd game in five. Nic, Paul and Joe did the business. Crewe in the fianl on 11th April.
Major Cup (U150)
Another bye before a visit to Crewe, where it was bye-bye to Crewe. The whole team contributed to the scorecard, Alan and Hambel with wins, John, Richard and >ic with draws.
Open Cup
Home to Macclesfield, with a trip to Stafford awaiting the winners. Newcastle turned out to be the winners against Macclesfield, Alan being the victor in the only decisive game. The rest of the team was Reinhold, Barry, Martyn, Hambel and Richard. By the time of the semi-final Martyn had left for Kendal. John took his place and won, and reinhold had a good draw with Lawrence Cooper. The rest of the team were less successful.
