The end is in sight, so this will be the last of this series of intermediate reviews.

The leadership of three divisions has changed hands since last I wrote. In the first division Holmes Chapel A have picked up another 8 points, zooming past long time leaders Newcastle A who managed to win just one of their three matches. If Holmes chapel win at Cheddleton A on Friday, they will be champions; defeat would allow Newcastle to take top spot if they can defeat both of the bottom two sides.

Meir A assumed the leadership of division three from the start of the season, with Fenton A following a step or two behind. But a couple of defeats for Meir has allowed Fenton to move to the front with the finishing line fast approaching. The two teams clash on 20th April at Fenton. Cheddleton F have also faded, with just one point from three matches, but so closely packed are the teams that they could still leap back up. At the other end of the table Cheddleton G are threatening to move out of bottom place for the first time this season, their late run of form not being good news for those still to play them.

Meir D have moved clear at the top of division five, by a whole point, though Cheddleton K's game in hand may still prove decisive.

The Cheddleton twins continue to lead the way in division two, with the C team being the only side that can prevent the D taking the title. Having lost the first four matches of their season, Crewe Rooks have picked up 5 points from the next four. Greg Willett's arrival has obviously been the piece of the jigsaw they needed to become competitive.

Crewe Pawns and Fenton B will fill the top two places in division four, their match at Crewe on 22nd April deciding in which order. Newcastle E know that they will have at least a share in the wooden spoon, with only Cheddleton I able to share the dubious honour.

The player count has reached the well known darts score of 180, 124 of whom have played at least five games. Paul Clapham has been the first to reach 30 games, with Martin Gill (28) and Karl Lockett and Martyn Harris (both 27) the most likely to join him. For quality rather than quantity, we look to Lawrence Cooper performing at 209, Malcolm Armstrong (204) and Dave Buxton (203).
