The bottom section for grades maybe, but the players here were not lacking in keenness. Saturday evening saw Eliot and Conrad Green locked in battle on top board. Perhaps the resulting draw was inevitable. Eliot (pictured below left) went on to win the section with an unbeaten 4 points.
Edward Davies and Matthew Wyza won the junior and Kangaroo prizes respectively.
The Analysis room did brisk business for this section, with many more games played there than in the competition room. In some cases the players' entourages were also involved.
